Meat is good for physical strength and for maintaining an aggressive “edge” in the world. Meat eaters tend to get things done. Considering that macrobiotics is about understanding the energy of food and the freedom to use it wisely, it makes sense to use some kind of animal food if your lifestyle and your goals demand it. You may need some strong energy to do your job, play rough-and-tumble with the kids, or run that marathon, but you probably don’t need red meat three times a day, every day, to give you that. A little fish’ll do.
